As a condition precedent to such set tlement you will require each and 'every person seeking the same, to sub mit to you a full btatcment, under oath, showing tlie time and place where the -'trespass was committed, and the quan tity of ties, wood -or logs by him, or them, taken and removed from the public lands. She lies in an upright position in twenty two fathoms of water, about fifty fath bms from the submerged rock on which hhe is supposed to have struck. There was about 1 ,0(30,000 in Treasury notes and bullion in her safe, and thefmders are.fitting out an expedition for its re covery. The treasure belongs to the Government, whose claim, it is held, lapsed on tho expiration of ten years after the loss. "kw Youk, Aug. 4th.
