V ictor R. Brown, a loved hum anitarian and com m unity leader w ho helped im prove the quality o f life for m any people. He died Aug. I at the age o f 76. He w as a loving husband, su p porting father and faithful child o f G od. His steadfast faith touched m any lives and rem ains a living testim ony for all that knew him. R e v . He graduated from Pow ell Point High School in K endelton and he receiv ed his B achelor o f T heology degree at African A m erican Church o f G od in W arner Pacific C ollege in Portland Portland. As senior pastor and o ver seer, he pastored for more than 50 in 1972. In 1948, he married his chi Idhixxl years. His son. Rev. Franklin Brown is now the ch u rch 's pas sw eet heart. Hazel L. tor. G od gave him a nity C hurch o f God, the second heart to assist persons suffering w ith s u b s ta n c e a b u s e a n d he founded the Im ani H ouse, a shelter hom e for abused w om en. G od blessed Rev. Brow n with many gifts and talents. He was an extraordinary writer, poet, preacher, teacher, counselor, carpenter and gardener. He w as very proud o f his garden located on the co m er o f V ancouver and Shaver, w here he w orked long hours w ith his friend, Sam Joel. His sons V ictor Jr. and David preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife and three children; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; tw o broth ers, Rev. O tis Brow n and Roscoe Brown; four sisters, C harlene Nix, Q uincie H unter, Florean G reer and Flora Sm ith; an uncle, aunt, a host o f nieces and nephew s and cousins, the C om m unity Church o f G od fam ily, and extended family and friends.
