The Port O f Portland Judy Trotter Manager, Contracts and Procurement O regon S tate U niversity NEW INDOORPRACTICEFACILITY And NEW SOFTBALL STADIUM Oregon State University (OSU) is preparing to construct a new Indoor Practice Facility and a new Softball Stadium on its Corvallis Campus. OSU plans to prequalify General Contractors who will be invited to submit bids. The Request forQualification (RFQ) will be the process used in compiling a short list of General Contractors to bid the project. The Contractor's team should include members experienced in collegiate athletics facilities. General contracting firms will be selected based upon their past performance with in-budget and on-time completion o f athletic projects. OSU will enter into a contract with the low bidder. The Indoor Practice Facility will be a 100,000 square foot pre-engineered steel metal roof structure with site-constructed walls. This multi-purpose space wi 11 house a control led environment for several varsity team practices. A full size football field with minimum 16-foot sideline and 20-foot end line clearances will be stripped on the synthetic turf practice surface. Pre-game functions and other events will require assembly occupancy with code compliant access, exiting and toilet facilities. A portable floor will be used for these events occurring on the practice turf surface. The softball playing field will have a natural (sand based) playing surface, full drainage system and automatic irrigation. The dugouts will accommodate 25-players each for both home and visitors and will be depressed 2-feet below the field level. Each will have a restroom and storage closet for game equipment. Seating for 700 spectator will be provided between first and third bases. The facility will have a press box directly behind home plate. Storage areas for soil mixes will also be provided.
