OMSI and the Olde World Puppet Theatre present a month long puppet extravaganza. Live shows, workshops and hands on demonstrations along with hun dreds of rare and private collection puppets will be on hand to help cel ebrate the holiday season. From Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen to “Tales o f North ern Lights,” by Mask and Puppet Festival Theater, kids ofall ages will be delighted with the live perfor mances by nationally and interna tionally recognized puppet troupes. Puppeteers will also be on-site throughout the event, giving dem onstrations and workshops on a wide variety o f related topics. Explore the science behind puppet making, try your hand at puppeteering, or make your very own puppet to take home. Learn how video magic brings puppets to life on TV by participat ing in the actual filming of a scene from an upcoming children’s video. See the actual puppets from Wee Sing Under the Sea, and hear how their creators are keeping kids tuned- in. Puppets is a w orld-class event created especially for OMSI by the Olde W orld Puppet Theatre, opening on Novem ber 26th and running through January 3rd. This event is included with general adm ission to the muse- The legendary vocal group band Bloodstone", has released its long awaited new album, "Bloodstone.. The Ultimate Collection". The al bum, which was released in mid October, is a great collection of some of"Bloodstone's" classic hits, but also contains several new, never released songs by the group Two spectacular singles from the album. I’ll Never Be Holding On" and "It Should Have Been Me”, have been chosen for release. The album is on the Los Angeles based label. “I T.P." (In The Pocket) Records, which re cently signed the group. Although the Kansas City based group has recorded eleven outstand ing R&B/pop/ funk albums since tak ing the name "Bloodstone" in the 1970’s, the new album represents their fu st recording in about I Oyears. “We are elated to have released this album" stated Charles McCormick, one of the group’s lead vocalists and guitarist Added fellow group member Charles Love, “This al bum is long overdue...! know peo^ pie are going to love what they hear. We’ve given them some of our classic hits, but we’ve also giv en them some new and outstanding songs." In addition to McCormick and Love, “Bloodstone" consists of W illis Dratfen and Harry Will iams. A lthough the group went through several years without a new record, they continued to play and tour throughout the Unite States, France, England, and Can ada. Known for their silky-smooth, high voiced lead and background harmony, and equally smooth mu sic, "Bloodstone" has long been imitated, but never duplicated by other groups. "Bloodstone’ is one ofthe great est singing and sounding groups in R&B history," exclaimed Alan Beck, president o f I.T P. Records. "Their faithful fans know about the group’s incredible sound, but the old and new fans are in for a real " Bloodstone’ treat...when they hear this album." -infield BSLI showcases campus talent The Linfield College Black Stu dent Union (BSU) is hosting a talent show Friday, November22, at 8 p.m. in Melrose Auditorium at Linfield. The second annual talent show urn. Adm ission prices are $6.00 for adults (14-62) and $4.50 for seniors (63 + ) and youths (4-13). will be modeled after the New York City television program, “Showtime at the Apollo," where the audience selects a winner from amateur con testants. Prizes at Linfield will be awarded to first, second and third place winners. The goal ofthe BSU is to promote awareness, provide sup port and facilitate understandingofthe African American culture.
