The legendary vocal group band
Bloodstone", has released its long
awaited new album, "Bloodstone..
The Ultimate Collection". The al
bum, which was released in mid
October, is a great collection of
some of"Bloodstone's" classic hits,
but also contains several new, never
released songs by the group Two
spectacular singles from the album.
I’ll Never Be Holding On" and "It
Should Have Been Me”, have been
chosen for release. The album is on
the Los Angeles based label. “I T.P."
(In The Pocket) Records, which re
cently signed the group.
Although the Kansas City based
group has recorded eleven outstand
ing R&B/pop/ funk albums since tak
ing the name "Bloodstone" in the
1970’s, the new album represents
their fu st recording in about I Oyears.
“We are elated to have released this
album" stated Charles McCormick,
one of the group’s lead vocalists
and guitarist Added fellow group
member Charles Love, “This al
bum is long overdue...! know peo^
pie are going to love what they
hear. We’ve given them some of
our classic hits, but we’ve also giv
en them some new and outstanding
songs." In addition to McCormick
and Love, “Bloodstone" consists
of W illis Dratfen and Harry Will
iams.
A lthough the group went
through several years without a
new record, they continued to play
and tour throughout the Unite
States, France, England, and Can
ada. Known for their silky-smooth,
high voiced lead and background
harmony, and equally smooth mu
sic, "Bloodstone" has long been
imitated, but never duplicated by
other groups.
"Bloodstone’ is one ofthe great
est singing and sounding groups in
R&B history," exclaimed Alan
Beck, president o f I.T P. Records.
"Their faithful fans know about the
group’s incredible sound, but the
old and new fans are in for a real
" Bloodstone’ treat...when they hear
this album."
