A lthough the state budget, and the federal grant programs w ill a f fect PCC’ s overall budget expen d itu re , Cascade is to receive top p rio rity in this development program. “ Beginning Fall Term a computer fie ld service technology program w ill be o ffe re d at Cascade,” A n thony said. “ There is no other program like it in the Northwest. The program will be recruitm en t, tra in in g and job placement fo r 18-year-olds and up.” The Cascade Campus is centrally located to technological enterprises in and around the C ity . A n othe r program , m icro-processing tra n sistor field, is scheduled to be a part o f the comprehensive outlook. Digital, and hopefully Textronic, w ill co ntribu te equipment fo r the technological program , A n th on y said. For this project, to date,$80,(XX) has been received from vocational educational funds. An additional $75,000 out o f the PCC budget will be used fo r rem odeling and con stru ctio n o f a new b u ild in g , classrooms and lab. “ C om m unity involvement is ex tremely im portant,” Anthony said. Cascade’ s advisory com m ittee is being restructured to better involve the community. PCC has received a lot o f support and in p u t from the com m unity based groups, Anthony said. Dean James Van Dyke, who heads Cascade, is working in conjunction with representatives from a number o f organizations w ith in the com munity to set up programs that will best serve the community.
