M etro: A change o f admission fee for the Washington Park Zoo, raising
the Metro resident fee to conform with the fee charged for non-residents, was
approved by the Metro Council during the regular Council meeting on Thur
sday evening. The new fee structure w ill help the zoo generate revenues to
cover 5O®/o o f its operating costs. The new admission fee for all zoo visitors,
will go into effect June I, 1981. Adults (ages 12 and over) $2.00; Youth (ages
5 through 11 ) $1.00; Under 5 years - free; Senior citizens $1.00; School
groups .50 (chaperones free).
Free T ra inin g Program in electronics w ill be provided June 15-July 30
through a cooperative program o f Portland Public Schools and the C ity
Human Resources Bureau Training and Employment Division. Classes will
be held Monday through Friday, 8:30 a m. - 2:30 p.m., in the Washington/
Monroe High School electronics shop and w ill be available to high school

C ity of Salem : Each year the C ity o f Salem receives General Revenue
Sharing funds from the federal government. One o f the requirements o f this
program is that the City Council must conduct a Budget Public Hearing. The
purpose o f this hearing is to allow the public an opportunity to testify on the
proposed use o f General Revenue Sharing Funds in the EY 1981-82 Budget.
The public hearing w ill be held on Monday evening, June 8, 1981 at 7:30 p.m.

Cascade, is working in conjunction
with representatives from a number

munity to set up programs that will
best serve the community.
