To start off with, I’m going to quote some zany game laws that have exist ed during the past, as well as a couple that are still in existence. No doubt other such screwy laws tnay be found governing game animals and fish in various states. A recently repealed law in Wyoming required a spe cial permit to photograph wildlife. As far as I know, none was ever sold. In New Mexico, squir rels are classed as big game. It costs a non-res ident 25C more to hunt squirrels than to hunt elk. Years ago, the legislature classed tree squirrels with big game because all other small game in New Mexico were birds. It was plain that a squirrel Isn’t a bird because It lives In a tree. Therefore, It must be big game. Right here at home In the state of Oregon, bull frogs were at one time classed as furbearing animals. That, I believe, tops 'em all, or have any of you readers something of a more zany nature to offer? . . . if so, let me know.
