WW1 Veterans Note Signing Over 50 members of Vet erans of World War I of the U. F.W. hall in Ba- , Md after a one minute silence at 11:00 a.m. a Memorial service was held for those Veterans who lost their lives in the conflict and those whohavedted since that time. This service was conducted by District Com mander James Vincent and Dis trict Auxiliary President Mar jorie Moore of Brookings, and following it a potluck dinner was participated in by those present. An afternoon of entertainment provided by the members of the Barracks in the District was presented in the aftertx’on. In spite of adverse weather conditions members of the or ganization were present from Bandon, Brookings, Coquille, Myrtle Point and Port Orford. Virgil Libby, harmonica solos by Ralph Miller, and a piano- organ duet by Mrs. Forrest Elliott and Mrs. Kenneth Nel son. Rev. Kline presented sev eral Negro spirituals accom panying himself on his guitar. He brought the message for the evening on "The Conversion of the Dying Thief on the Cross.’’ Following the service a dessert potluck was held in the church’s overflow room. Kenneth Nelson was in charge of the evening and dir ected the young people’s groups. Mrs. Cope was a member of the Floras-Willow club more than 15 years ago and had a grand time renewing friend ships. She formerly lived in what is now the Community church parsonage. On her way back to her home in Port Orford, Mrs. Foster took Mrs. Cope to visit Mrs. Foster’s other grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Beickel.
