11:00 a.m. a Memorial service
was held for those Veterans
who lost their lives in the
conflict and those whohavedted
since that time. This service
was conducted by District Com­
mander James Vincent and Dis­
trict Auxiliary President Mar­
jorie Moore of Brookings, and
following it a potluck dinner
was participated in by those
present.
An afternoon of entertainment
provided by the members of the
Barracks in the District was
presented in the aftertx’on.
In spite of adverse weather
conditions members of the or­
ganization were present from
Bandon, Brookings, Coquille,
Myrtle Point and Port Orford.

organ duet by Mrs. Forrest
Elliott and Mrs. Kenneth Nel­
son. Rev. Kline presented sev­
eral Negro spirituals accom­
panying himself on his guitar.

Dying Thief on
the Cross.’’
Following the
service a dessert potluck was
held in the church’s overflow
room. Kenneth Nelson was in
charge of the evening and dir­
ected the young people’s groups.
