TRIBAL MEMBER NEWS Parr, Garcia Wed from your family and friends Congratulations and best wishes to Jessica and Oscar Garcia and family! The couple was joined together in marriage on Sept. 21 at the Siletz Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Vance officiating. Oscar and Jessica Garcia The Siletz Business Development Center grant funds have been expended. Jacksons Receive Grant Cindy and Carl Jackson received a $10,(XK) grant from the Siletz Business Development Center for their business, Native American Transport. Native American Transport is based in Salem, Ore., and transports manufactured homes all over the U.S. “We go anywhere - Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah,” says Carl, who has 30 years' experience in the business. “He’s the driver, with all the know-how,” says Cindy. The two were leasing their services through another company before receiving the grant and now are able to provide the services directly themselves. “We are extremely grateful to the tribe for this opportunity,” add Cindy and Carl. Newlyweds Thank Families Misty Marie Fisher married James Gamer Butt on Sept. 17, 2002, in a simple backyard ceremony with their son, Nikah, as ring bearer, and daughter, Kaylee, as the flower girl. Misty is currently employed by MIG, Inc., a planning and design firm located in Eugene, Ore. She also teaches step aerobics and kickboxing for Total Body Fitness (as well as three other local gyms), and attends classes at Lane Community College toward her bachelor’s degree in public relations. James is currently self- employed as a certi fied ATV mechanic, doing repairs on both Misty and James Butt AT Vs and watercraft. Immediately following the wedding, Misty and James enjoyed a wonderful week-long honeymoon on the beautiful island of Maui! James and I would like to say “thanks” to the following people: Pam Butt for all of her hard work in preparing the wedding food, bouquets, and our delicious wedding cake; John and Coleen Roberts for the most wonderful wedding present - our trip to Maui; Robbi and Ray Eustachy for their financial help with wedding necessities; Darcie Perkins and Kim Mesa for throwing my great bridal shower; Patty and Luis Perez for hosting our exciting joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Corvallis, Ore., at The Cantina; and last but not least, to Bethany Johnson for being my personal escort on the day of my wedding to make sure I didn t forget anything! I also would like to thank three special Fishers for coming to my wedding and representing the Fisher part of my family - Randy Fisher and family, Paul Fisher, and Sky Fisher. It meant a great deal to me for you to be there! Thanks to everyone! We’re truly enjoying being “newlyweds!” O O CD Central Rocks Lincoln City The second of two bands will perform live at CD Central in Lincoln City, Ore., on Nov. 3. The Dragonflies, from Portland, Ore., will play from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The band released its first album in October. Floater performed at CD Central on Oct. 13. This well-known alternative band, originally from Eugene, Ore., but now in Portland, has released four albums. Chris and Brenda Fisher, the owners of CD Central, are excited about the first two in-store performances and hope to make it a recurring tradition. “We are an independent, locally owned, and we listen to our customers,” stated the Fishers. “Our goal is to make as many people happy as possible and free concerts are a good way to start.” For more information about the bands or the event, please contact CD Central, located in the Factory Stores @ Lincoln City, at 541-996-2300.
