Hill Carries on Family Tradition by Cindy Jackson Jeremy Hill, 18, was just hired on at Chemawa as a home living assistant. He joins his sister there. For decades, members of our family have worked at Chemawa. The ironic thing is that Jeremy is doing the same work as his Great-grama Lane. I was thinking about the last conversation I had with Grama Lane (three weeks prior to her death). She was talking about how proud she was of Jenera working at Chemawa. Jeremy walked out of the concert toward us and she said, “Oh my, Jeremy is so grown up.” Then she said, “I just can’t believe he will graduate soon.” Then she added, “You wait and see, that Jeremy is gonna make something of himself.” She would be very proud of him now. My hope is that Jeremy will do as good a job now as Grama Lane did some 60 years ago. is presented to alumni whose professional, civic, and personal achievements bring high honor to themselves and recognition to their alma mater.
