The Siletz Business Development Center grant
funds have been expended.
Jacksons Receive Grant
Cindy and Carl Jackson received a $10,(XK) grant from the Siletz Business
Development Center for their business, Native American Transport.
Native American Transport is based in Salem, Ore., and transports
manufactured homes all over the U.S.
“We go anywhere - Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah,” says Carl, who has 30
years' experience in the business.
“He’s the driver, with all the know-how,” says Cindy. The two were leasing
their services through another company before receiving the grant and now
are able to provide the services directly themselves.
“We are extremely grateful to the tribe for this opportunity,” add Cindy and
Carl. They plan to purchase a truck for their business with this grant.
For more information about Native American Transport, call 503-584-0452,
or e-mail natamtrans@yahoo.com.
Newlyweds Thank Families
Misty Marie Fisher married James Gamer Butt on Sept. 17, 2002, in a simple
backyard ceremony with their son, Nikah, as ring bearer, and daughter, Kaylee,
as the flower girl.
Misty is currently
employed by MIG,
Inc., a planning and
design firm located in
Eugene, Ore. She also
teaches step aerobics
and kickboxing for
Total Body Fitness (as
well as three other
local gyms), and
attends classes at Lane
Community College
toward her bachelor’s
degree in public
relations. James is
currently
self-
employed as a certi
fied ATV mechanic,
doing repairs on both
Misty and James Butt
AT Vs and watercraft.
Immediately following the wedding, Misty and James enjoyed a wonderful
week-long honeymoon on the beautiful island of Maui!
James and I would like to say “thanks” to the following people: Pam Butt for
all of her hard work in preparing the wedding food, bouquets, and our delicious
wedding cake; John and Coleen Roberts for the most wonderful wedding present
- our trip to Maui; Robbi and Ray Eustachy for their financial help with wedding
necessities; Darcie Perkins and Kim Mesa for throwing my great bridal shower;
Patty and Luis Perez for hosting our exciting joint bachelor/bachelorette party
in Corvallis, Ore., at The Cantina; and last but not least, to Bethany Johnson
for being my personal escort on the day of my wedding to make sure I didn t
forget anything!
I also would like to thank three special Fishers for coming to my wedding
and representing the Fisher part of my family - Randy Fisher and family, Paul
Fisher, and Sky Fisher. It meant a great deal to me for you to be there! Thanks to
everyone! We’re truly enjoying being “newlyweds!”
