It’s Happening at Chinook Winds ... by Teresa Simmons Managers Learn to Create, Better Teams In January, Chinook Winds embarked on a progressive, formalized, strategic effort involving management and leadership development, and mentorship and protege development. Collyn L. DeNio, Triumph Consulting of Colorado, in conjunction with John Bradford of Bradford Solution Inc., was hired to help develop and implement this strategic initiative. The 60-hour mandatory course offered to all directors and managers ran over a three-month period, four hours a day or 20 hours for one week of each month. During those 60 hours, management team members were instructed on how to be more effective team leaders. The course taught managers and directors how to effectively and appropriately work with staff and how to logically evaluate team members’ performance. Successful implementation of work strategies was taught, as well as proper analysis of controversy. They also had to demonstrate team-building skills.
