Take a Wild Ride with Paul
Revere and the Raiders
Paul Revere organized the Raiders in 1958. Since then, it’s been
one wild performance after another with 25 consecutive hit singles, eight
gold albums, and nearly 50 million records sold. “Louie, Louie,’’ “Ooh
Poo Pah Doo,’’ “Just Like Me,” “Kicks,” “Hungry,” “Good Thing,” and
“Indian Reservation” (which sold nearly 3 million singles, making it the
biggest selling record for Columbia Records in 10 years) are among their
many hits.
In 1965-1966, the group was featured on the ABC TV five-day-a-
week network show, “Where The Action Is,” produced by Dick Clark. In
1968 and 1969, Paul Revere co-hosted a weekly ABC series, “Happening,”
which featured the Raiders. They’ve done numerous TV and radio
commercials, been featured on many TV shows, and have performed
thousands of concerts in North America and Europe.
Paul Revere, the only remaining member of the original group, has
been called the “Mad Man of Rock ‘n’ Roll” for good reason. On stage,
Revere carries on with maniacal glee, as if he wants to get in the last
laugh before the men in the white coats carry him off. Although the
members of the band have changed over time, the on-stage excitement
has remained supercharged and the quality of music has only improved.
It’s truly a “blast from the past.”

In 1977, they had another big
hit, “Do What You Do,” from their
second album. This same year, Rod
Stewart asked them to join him on
a tour through the United States and
Canada, which provided the
steppingstones that would see Air
Supply begin to reach their famous
status in the United States. A
rearrangement of the band,
necessitated by the departure of
Jeremy Paul, didn’t slow them
down. In April 1979, they released
“Life Support in Australia,” their
third album. “Lost in Love” from
this album charted immediately on
release within the top 20.
Meanwhile in America, Air
Supply signed a $1.5 million
international deal with Arista and
released a revised, more “hip”
version of “Lost In Love” in the
U.S. In February 1980, the song
already had reached No. 3 on
Billboard’s chart. This was the first
of seven consecutive singles to
enter the American top 5.

Over the next three years, Air
Supply produced hit after chart­
rating hit: “All Out Of Love,”
“Every Woman In The World,”
“Sweet Dreams,” “Even The Nights
Are Better,” and the Jim Steinman-
penned smash hit “Making Love
Out of Nothing At All,” which
remained at No. 2 on Billboard for
three weeks. In 1991, under the
Giant label, they came back strong
with the release of a new album,
“The Earth Is,” beginning a trend
of releasing a new album every
other year.
In 1995, in Taipei, Taiwan,
they recorded “Greatest Hits Live,”
their first live album. Their music
continues to grow, always reflecting
the harmonies that made them.

in concert on March 9 and 10.
Tucker launched her career
two decades ago with “Delta
Dawn,” her first hit at the tender
age of 13. Since then, she’s had
innumerable hits, been the topic
of conversation in many tabloids,
became the mother of a son and a
daughter, and has received a
multitude of country music
awards. With 28 albums to her
credit and about 200 performances
per year, Tucker continues to
delight audiences worldwide.
“Soon,” “Love Me Like You
Used To,” “It’s a Little Too Late,”
“Two Sparrows In A Hurricane,”
“Strong Enough To Bend,” and
“What’s Your Mama’s Name?” are
just a few of her chart-busting hits
that span more than 20 years of
success in country music.
