Siletz Tribe Funds Skate Park The Tribal Council of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians has agreed to donate $45,000 to help build a skateboard park in Siletz, Ore. The Council made its decision at a meeting in January following a presentation by the Siletz Valley Partnership/Youth Skate Park Committee. Matt Williams, 15, led the presentation by describing how local youth and the community in general would benefit from the skate park. The $45,000 donation will help cover the cost of designing and constructing a 100-foot-by-90-foot skate park for the Siletz community. The money will come from state cigarette tax refunds that the tribe receives quarterly. The city of Siletz has designated the land on which the skate park will be built. The land is located just west of Highway 229 near the south end of town, next to a baseball diamond off of Swan Avenue.
