B. Crisler, C. H. Gillette, C. IL Vau- pel, W. J. Schmidt. Absent: Council man, W. B. Million. Regular monthly reports of City offi cers read and placed on file. The attention of the Council was called the fact that parties have been cutting trees along the banks of Ashland creek, thereby damaging the creek. The City attorney was instructed to as certain from the land office what maybe done to prevent such vandalism. The following resolution was read and unanamously adopted, viz: “R esolved , that the City Council in vite the representatives of the U. S. For estry Commission, now soon to visit Ashland, to an examination of the Ash land forest reserve, and that for this purpose, a committee, of which the Mayor shall be chairman, shall be ap pointed to tender to said Commission the freedom oi the City, and that suit able arrangements be made for their en tertainment, and that said Commission be notified of such action.” The Mayor appointed the members of the City Council and the City attorney on the committee.
