Monday evening, a large number of the friends of Mrs. Eunice Evans, with invited guests, gave her a surprise party in the Normal building. The surprise was complete, and was as thoroughly enjoyed by the “surprisers” as by the “surprised.” The spacious Normal building afforded ample room for the enjoyment of a variety of amusements, quite prominent among which were some very pretty and pleasing tableaux. A bounteous “mid-night repast” was a conspicuous “feature of the program.” The party broke up about one o’clock, all having spent an enjoyable evening.
