Is especially interested at present in looking up our fruit in dustry from the standpoint of a can' nery. Mr. Shirts, prior to moving to Canada, built and operated the first cannery in Utah county, which today Is a large and prosperous Institution. He sees no reason why a cannery and dryer combined would not be a good business enterprise In this valley, both from an operators viewpoint, as well as the grower. He has not yet made up his mind, but wjll make a careful examination of our conditions and may decide to do something In this line. He Is well pleased with the valley and will undoubtedly Invest and make this his home. WHITMAN TEAM OUT. Big Squad of Students Want In With Whitman 'Varsity Nine. Whitman College.
