another call for county warrants. No
taxpayer can accuse him of holding county

as soon as the money reaches him.

quirements. , Mr. Bennett of Indian Territory, after
spending two days in our city and valley,
left last night for other points along his
tour of inspection. He spent an hour in
the Observer office and assured us that
he undoubtedly would return. He is
wide awake and fully realizes that this
section of the Northwest is on the eve of
absorbing a vast population.
Col. J. D. Casey of Hilgard was a busi
ness visitor in the city last night. Mr.
Casey has bui't up an extensive lumbtr
business, and was here in the interest of
that business. He will purchase a new
engine here that is 120 horse power that
is guaranteed to haul 20,000 feet of logs
at the rata or three muss an hour over
grade of Ave per cent This new traction
will facilitate his large enterprise exen-sely.
Quite a number of the friends of Aunt
IJbbie Gray called on her this afternoon
out of respect to her 87th birthday
anniversary. She entertained them all in
her frank characteristic manner. Within
her memory time has wrought many
wonaers and especially in these United
States the condition and comforts have
steadily increased.

killed in the wreck yesterday, will be held

undertaking parlors.
