These 16 members and 11 prox i ies decided that there should be U an assembly held in Portland on July 21st for the purpose of ad ! vising the Republican voters of I' the State to nominate certain 1; candidates for State offices. Dele gates to the State assembly are : to be selected by county assem i blies, and delegates to the county : assemblies are to be chosen by I majority vote at precinct mass S meetinsrs to be called by the county central committee, the date for the precinct mass meet- i1 ings to be Saturday, July 9th, X- and the date for the county as semblies to be Saturday. July 16. There are to be 1248 delegates to the State assembly, and of the number Multnomah county is to - have 350. There was some pro- xs, test against this arrangement, ' but it was insisted upon and fi adopted.
