R Tanner was a visitor In Roseburg this morning from Camas Valley. Mr. Tanner has a home stead on Camas mountain, and was here on business matters. Suv is a resident of Garden Valley and returned borne in the afternoon. Revenue Collector Here Fred L. Calving is spending sev eral days In this city attending to business affairs. Mr. Calving is one of the Internal revenue collectors, and arrived here yesterday from .Medford. Mother Dies at Langlois Mrs. Edgar Bosson. the mother of Mrs. Banning and H.'nry Bossen, of this city passed away at Long lols yesterday. Mrs. Bossen was 71 years of age, and was born In Den mark. She came to America in the '"n's. She was one of the ploneerB of the Oregon coast, otie whose early activities and her family's had much to do with the development of northern Curry and southern Coos county. She was the mother of nine children, four boys and five daughters. Those surviving are, Mr. Hossen, Mrs. Ralph Pomery. and Mrs. Cope, of Langlois. Mrs. Bunrh of Pendleton. Mrs. Rodell of Port land and the two children here. Horn! Man Visits It. R. Hays is spending a few days in Roseburg attending to business interests. Mr. Huys Is from Eugene, and is connected with a bond house there. To Attend Auto Show Frank Reldel left yesterday after noon for Portland, where he will spend 'the next few , days on busi- , ness and will attend the auto show, ' which is being held there this week. Natural Gas Troublesome Reports from the Leeper Dome oil well today Indicate that the prospects for ultimate success are flattering. At a depth of 800 feet the flow of gas is so strong S3 to make baling out the well a really difficult problem, as the gas bub bles up and partially empties the bucket of its contents before the surfAce Is reached. Just how to. handle this difficulty Is the prob lem that confronts the manage ment, and In order to meet the emergency another expert driller has been wired for. This man will come here from the Wyoming fields, and is expected to arrive in a few days. Meanwhile operations are held up, but during the mean time soiue needed repairs to the drilling apparatus and machinery are being made, 1H I Dr. Pemberton Guest I Dr. W. L.
