Taylor, a local timber land locator, who came into public notice a few days ago through a charge of obtain ing money under false pretenses. Mr. Taylor, who lived alone in the house, saved only a few personal effects. He carried Insurance of. $600, which cov ers hardly more than one-third of his loss. Light against the Southern Pa cific railway, began yesterday before Judge Wolverton. Light Is suing the railroad for $20,000 because of the loss of his left leg, and other In juries. Light was one of a gang of men who were repairing bridges and tunnels three miies from Leland. While on his way to the bunkhouse he was overtaken by a freight train, and because there was lumber piled near the track he could not get out of the way.
