Arthur Eaton, residing in Eugene, was instant ly killed at the Treasure mine in thp Blue River district yesterday. In company with his brother he was fell ing a large dead tree on the slope of a steep hill. The tree Btarted to fail and the men ran in opposite directions. It suddenly twisted around and fell in the direction in which they had run. Be fore Arthur could get out of the way the trunk rolled over him, crushing nearly every bone in bis body. Eaton was the sole support of his mother and two sisters. SPREE ENDS IN DEATH, Eugene, Or., April 7. The dead body of Gunder Haroldson, a Danish farmer, residing ton miles south of Eu gene, was found this morning in tho Eugene Excelsior mills. Physicians say death was probably duo to acute alcoholism, as he was drunk Sunday when last seen.
