Fall wheat continues to ripon ond fill
nicely, making overywhoro a good,
plump berry, except in tho Willamette
valley, where no improvement Is noted.
Tho harvesting of fall wheat and oata Is
general all over tho stnto, and a groat
deal of grain Is now In shock nnd somo
lms been stacked.
Tlio warm weather has helped the
spring wheat. It line n good color, and,
taking tho statu as a whole, promises to
maturo very nearly nn nvcrago crop,
notwithstanding its damaged condition
in tho Wlllainetto valloy, duo to rust,
llco and tho grain nphis.
Flnx and barley ore doing splendidly.
Hops nro in bloom and havo made it
good growth during tho weak. Although
h'o llco aro not as plentiful as ttsual,
spraying is hot being neglected, but, on
thc'contrary, is now in very activo pro
gress throughout tho hop-growing dis
tricts. Corn is ready for tablo uso.
Potatoes, which up to tlio prcsont tiuio
havo been very thrifty and promising,
nro roported in n few places ns being
affected by a blight, which turns tho
vines black. Not enough damage, how
ever, has yet been done to tho vines to
caueoany serious alarm, and it Is be
lieved tho present warm nnd sunshiny
woathoc will prevent much further in
jury of this character.
Tho first crop of hay has nearly nil
been cut, nnd, as a rule, it was well
cured and tnfely housed.
Pasturage Ih drying up t omotvhat, but
stock continues in excellent condition.

plentiful. Karly pouches and apples aro
bolng marketed. Tho cacli crop is

Hayes. The last week has been very
favorable for farm work. Vegetation
made rapid growth. Fall wheat and

blooming and aro In splendid condition,
being freer of lice at this time than for
many years. Haying is about finished ;
