The mem bers of tho national league of tlio United States are here in response toacallof President Fitzgerald to fix the date for tho next national convention of the league'ntid which was postponed last fall as a result of the division in the ranks by the Crouin murder, and also to transact other important business connected with tho organization. In his ad dress to the numbers throughout the country, President Fitzgerald says: "A general election in Great Bri tian is impending. With us arc marshalled the liberal hosts of Eng land, Wales and Scotland, led by the Grand Old Man, whose marvel ous vigor is s'staiu.'d by the in spired consciousness of coming victory. Paruell, the sagacious nnd unswerving leader, maintains unas sailable his toucli on the minds and hearts of our devoted people. Sac rlfices will be demanded of them and to meet this supreme emer gency so as to preserve and even strengthen the integrity of Irish representation in tho British parli ment. Two years at the most and possibly two months, will bring us face to faeo with this crisis. In this last ordeal that your patriotism may he called upon to undergo, we, ourselves, the liberal masses of Great Britain and die people of Ireland, confidently rely upon you. There fore, we entreat you, as honest, loyal, supporters of the cause of Ireland, eschewing all local issues, Ignoring all distinctions of Ameri can national politics to rally in your integrity and associate ih your might and again givo us practical evidence of your devotion to the dear old land."
