BIG BEND - Darrell Eng lish spent several days at Nampa last week helping his brother Manon. Mrs. Ethel Smith was a luncheon guest of Mrs. Edith Compiler in Huston Wednes day. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Emil Beguhl of Boise; Lynne Beguhl of Bend and the Rev. and Mrs. Dan Beguhl, The occasion was arranged so all could visit with Lynne Beguhl who was on spring vacation from her teaching job at Bend. Mrs. Don Roberts accom panied Mrs Lyle Holverson of Parma to visit Mrs. Phil Church in Wilder Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Church re cently had major surgery. Mrs. Ethel Smith. Mr. and Mrs. John Packwood and Mr. and Mrs. Dyre Roberts attended the Parma Senior Citizen dinner Thursday. Mrs. Boyce Van De Water and Mrs. Varner Hopkins took the Home Extension lesson "Organizing Your Freezer” at the Malheur County Library Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Lynne Wortendyke and son. David of Portland visited Mrs. Mike Sillonis Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Alan Bennett also called. The ladies had been classmates at the Nyssa High School. Mr and Mrs. Ray Cart wright were Wednesday sup per guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cartwright in Nyssa Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright had the privilege to see all the grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cartwright and two of their grandchildren. Mrs. Rex Smith accom panied Mrs. Joe Wiggins. Becky and Susan Carroll and Lannv Fugishin to a 4-H workshop in Ontario Thurs day evening at TVCC. Mr. and Mrs. Noel Tup- peny returned from an extended vacation to Florida and Colorado Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Witty and Carl left Friday morning for Newberg. Oregon where they visited his brother and sister. They returned Sunday evening. Becky and Susan Carroll were Friday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dyre Roberts. Big Bend was well repre sented at the March of Dimes Walkathon Saturday between Nyssa and Ontario. Walking were Danny and Deanna Chaney. Peggy Ishida. Todd Bennett. Julie Sillonis. Ann Zueger. Michelle and Dick Leavitt, Denny Molt. Laurie Bennett and Kelly Allsop Walking the complete route of 24 miles were Danny, Deanna. Peggy and Dick. As Dick is only a Fourth grader, this seems like a remarkable thing. None of the group walked less than 12 miles. Mrs. Dale Smith who had been assisting with the care of the Sam Pollard family became ill and was a patient of the Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario receiving treat ment and tests from Friday evening until Tuesday.
