QUICK CHERRY PIE 1 baked 9” pie crust 1 can sweetenedcondensedmllk 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 »2 can sour cherries (drained) Pour sweetened condensed milk into mixing bowl and add lemon juice, stirring until milk thickens. Add almond extract. Fold in sour cherries and pour into pie shell. Place in re frigerator to chill. Serves 6. BANANA SPLIT PIE CAKE "N" CONES Filling 1/2 cup butter or margerine Set cup-type ice cream cones 1 1/2 cups siftedconfectioner's in muffin tins. Fill cones 1/2 sugar full with your favorite cake t eggs batter. Bake according to di 1 tsp. vanilla rections for cup cakes. 3 med. sized ripe bananas Serve with a scoop of ice 1 tbsp, fresh lemon juice cream on top of cake and a 1 ounce square chocolate, piece of stick candy to simulate grated a stubby candle. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Beat butter until creamy add sugar grad’ially, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating 3 minutes after eacn addition, using electric mixer. Blend in vanilla. Peel and slice two bananas. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Fold chocolate and banana into sugar mixture. Pour into cooled baked pie shell. Sprinkle with wal nuts. Chili 2 or 3 hours. Third banana is sliced on top of pie before serving, then topped with whipped topping. ASPARAGUS SUPREME 1 «2 can asparagus tips, drained I 8-oz. can cream of mushroom soup 1 8-oz. can fried colon rings Pour asparagus tips into a 1-quart baking dish. Cover with mushroom coup. Top with fried onion rings. Bake in a 350 de gree oven, until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes. Selves 6. At Ostensoe’s right are Mr. and Mrs. George Russell of Vale. Ostensoe made three appearances in Mal heur County as he tours the state talking to cattlemen and consumers. He noted that one hour’s labor in 1951 purchased 1.7 pounds of beef, and today one hour’s labor will buy 3.3 pounds of quality beef.
