QUICK CHERRY PIE
1 baked 9” pie crust
1 can sweetenedcondensedmllk
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 »2 can sour cherries (drained)
Pour sweetened condensed
milk into mixing bowl and add
lemon juice, stirring until milk
thickens. Add almond extract.
Fold in sour cherries and pour
into pie shell.
Place in re
frigerator to chill. Serves 6.
BANANA SPLIT PIE

1/2 cup butter or margerine
Set cup-type ice cream cones
1 1/2 cups siftedconfectioner's in muffin tins. Fill cones 1/2

Beat butter until creamy add

light and fluffy. Add eggs one
at a time, beating 3 minutes

electric mixer. Blend in vanilla.
Peel and slice two bananas.
Sprinkle with lemon juice. Fold
chocolate and banana into sugar
mixture. Pour into cooled baked
pie shell. Sprinkle with wal
nuts. Chili 2 or 3 hours. Third
banana is sliced on top of pie
before serving, then topped with
whipped topping.
ASPARAGUS SUPREME
1 «2 can asparagus tips, drained
I 8-oz. can cream of mushroom
soup
1 8-oz. can fried colon rings
Pour asparagus tips into a
1-quart baking dish. Cover with
mushroom coup. Top with fried
onion rings. Bake in a 350 de
gree oven, until hot and bubbly,
about 20 minutes. Selves 6.

of the Oregon Cattlemen's Association, spoke
to Malheur County cattlemen and guests at an
appreciation dinner at the LaPalomaCafe last
F riday evening.
Seated at the head table are Skip Thayer,
president of the Malheur Livestock Asso
ciation, Mrs. Thayer, president of the Mal-
heur County Cowbelles, and Mrs. Bert Haw-
kins. At Ostensoe’s right are Mr. and Mrs.
George Russell of Vale.
Ostensoe made three appearances in Mal
heur County as he tours the state talking to
cattlemen and consumers. He noted that
one hour’s labor in 1951 purchased 1.7
pounds of beef, and today one hour’s labor
will buy 3.3 pounds of quality beef.

A public hearing on the proposed supplemental budget for the City of Nyssa for the fiscal year
1972-1973 will be held In the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8 p.m. on March 6, 1973.
Copies of the supplemental budget are available without charge at the office of the City Recorder.
The budget may be inspected by interested persons at the office of the City Recorder during
regular office hours. Any person may appear at the public hearing on the supplemental budget,
and discuss the budget or any part of it.
