Pag« Four The Nyssa Gate City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon Cundall—Roberts Exchange Wedding Vows In Ashland Miss Lynda Cundall ex changed wedding vows with Mike Roberts on August 29, 1970, in Trinity Episcopal Church in Ashland with the ReverandWar- ran C. Thomas of the First Methodist Church of Ashland officiating. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.R. Cundall of Nyssa. The bridegroom’s pa rents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robertij,also of Nyssa. In the early afternoon, double ring ceremony Lynda was given in marriage by her father. She wore a smooth-line gown of nylon organza over taffeta and a veil of fine net secured with a large bow. She carried a mixed bouquet of daisies, white rose buds, blue delphinium, and heather. Mixed summer flora de corated the altar. Mrs. Dwight Wyckoff of Vancouver accom panied the service. Bride’s attendants included maid of honor, Patty Urry, and bridesmaids, Marcia (Wy ckoff) Sheehy and Judy Nedry, all of Eugene. They were at tired in short dresses of yel low dotted swiss, wore white sandals and carried yel low rosebuds. Caren Mason and Iliana Carr of Ashland wore long sleeved dresses of white eyelet lace lined with blue and lit the can dles prior to the ceremony. The bridegroom and his at tendants sported blue linen, double-breasted dinner jackets accented with white rose bouten- nieres. Best man was Larry Roberts of Boise. The bride’s mother chose a pink coatdress for her daugh ter’s wedding and the groom’s mother wore a pale blue sheath. They both wore corsages of white rosebuds. A reception in the church recreation hall followed the ce remony. A three-tiered cake decorated with daisies and top ped with an arrangement of white doves centered the table. Ser ving the wedding cake was Mrs. Max Urry of Nyssa and Mrs. Marvin Sorensen of Parma. Mrs. Larry Roberts of Boise poured the coffee and Mrs. Chester Sorensen of Texas ser ved the punch. Sherrie Kessler and Sylvia Wilkins opened gifts. Harriet (Cleaver) Burkhart tended the guest book. Lynda and Mike left the re ception in a flurry of flashbulbs, flowers, and rice,foraonoweek wedding trip to northern Calif ornia and Lake Tahoe, Nev. For her going away costume the bride chose a grey striped, knit dress and grey, mock alligator accessories. The couple will reside in Ash land where the groom is at tending Southern Oregon Col lege. The bride is a 1970 graduate of University of Oregon. Guests at the wedding num bered around 60 and included many out-of-state relativesand school friends of the young couple. Eagles Enjoy Family Party The Eagles Lodge of Nyssa held a “Back to School Party” September 13 at the Eagles Hall. Vein Hancock was in charge of arrangements. Memtiers and their families enjoyed a barbecue supper, fol lowed by games. Larry Gard ner of Ontario won the adult prize and Barbara Williams was winner of the teenage prize. The decorations were beautiful; pre sentation of clothing and style was comparable to selections presented in much larger cities; and overall production was ex ceptional. These were the reports overheard by those at tending the gala affair this year. The show was Saturday, Sep tember 12, at the Multi-purpose room of the Nyssa Primary School with a good attendance but not as large as in other years, reported Chairman in charge, Mrs. Ted Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was assisted by Mrs. Bob Wilson, and Mrs. Dick Tensen. Other Commit tee members were Mrs. Fred Bracken, who was ably assis ted by a newcomer to the com munity, Mrs. Charles Vanetti; Mrs. Dee Garner, Mrs. Dick Miller, Mrs. Louie Maulding and Gary Condon. Mrs. Wilton Jackson and Mrs. Jim Williams were chairmen in charge of the refreshments for the St. Bridget’s Altar Society, and Candy Stripers and em ployees of the U.S. National Bank served. Mrs. Morgan stated that she and the Auxiliary felt the mer chants in Nyssa should be es pecially thanked for the excep tional donations used as door prizes; and that not only the Auxiliary, but all of Nyssa, could be proud of the showing this year. SENIOR CITIZEN Notice is hereby given that the Oregon State HighwayCommis- sion has been requested to es tablish a corridor route in the vicinity of Succor CreekCounty Road, located in East Central Malheur County, Oregon, thereby creating a direct ac cess within Oregon between the city of Jordan Valley and com munity of Adrian. Pursuant to the aforemen tioned request, the Oregon State Highway Commission proposes to hold hearings for purposes of determining the desire and need for a corridor route location in the Succor Creek vicinity. The proposal, as recommen ded, consists of a location sur vey to determine the most fea sible route within the Succor Creek Corridor. The studies reveal a common alignment ba sically following portions of the Succor Creek County Road, with the northerly terminus at a junc tion of the Nyssa-Adrian High way (ORE 201) near Ridgeview School. The southerly terminus is at a junction with the exist ing I.O.N. Highway (idaho-Ore- gon-Nevada, US 95)near Malloy Ranch, approximately 2 miles southwest of the Oregon-Idaho State line. OWYHEE GARDEN CLUB WINS SECOND PLACE The Owyhee Garden Club met Friday. Septemlier 11, at the home of Mrs. John Stubstad, Ontario, with Mrs. liver Niel sen as co-hostess. The Club’s booth at the Mal heur County Fair took a second place premium. Members will meet at the home of Mrs. Howard Evans, Parma, Thursday, September 17, at 9 a.m. to make cor sages for the Adrian PTA. Several members will meet at the Owyhee Cemetery Thurs day, October 8, to dig up the peonies. They w ill l>e for sale to the members. The program was on Iris, and Mrs. Howard Evans gave some helpful hints, as well as a list of new varieties on the mar ket. There were 15 members in attendance and refreshments were served.
