NYSSA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for supplying gasoline to School District No. 26 for the fiscal year commen- cing July 1, 1969 and ending June 30, 1970 will be received in the office of the school dis- trict clerk until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 1969, at which time they will be opened at the regular meeting of the district school board. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Topliff attended a Feb. 16 dinner in honor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Warren, on their 53rd wedding anniversary. The event was held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Edith Suter in Parma. Mrs. Thelma Hammon went to Caldwell Memorial hospital on Feb. 11 to visit Mrs. Leland Maylin. Enroute home she visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swanson at Roswell. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kurtz and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Eunice McLaughlin went to Portland Feb. 10 to visit their son, Dr. and Mrs. Merle Kurtz and family. Dr. Kurtz had not been well. Word was received Friday morning by Bob Kurtz that his brother, Dr. Merle had succumbed. Services were held Monday morning in Portland. The pupils are (1 to r) Mike Franklin, class vice president; Delores Lewis, president; Julie Garcia, secretary and Bill Ulrey, heart fund chair man. $1.50 of the total was collected during this year’s drive by the fourth-grade students. Ashcraft spent most of last week as a patient in Malheur Memorial hospital and his wife spent the week with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Drown at Nyssa. Ash craft was released Saturday and the couple returned home. He is reported to be improving. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Richards of Madras arrived Feb. 15 to spend the weekend with her parents, the Ashcrafts. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hamilton of Boise visited her parents, the Ashcrafts and with the Richards’ on Feb. 16. They flew with Leroy and Vivian Bair to Las Vegas, Nev. where they saw the stage show “Maime” starring Susan Hayward. While in Las Vegas they saw Larry and Lana Schenk, formerly from Nyssa, and their new baby. Leaving Las Vegas they flew to Hyder, Ariz. where they visited Former Nyssans Betty and Wes Beus, Nani and Spencer Beus. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown spent the afternoon of Feb. 16 visiting his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eastman and family at Caldwell. The Browns took them out to dinner in ob servance of Eastman’s birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. K. I. Peterson visited Feb. 16 with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bennett. Newell and Mrs. Nina Lowe in Nyssa. Mrs. Miller is the former Carolyn Lowe.
