Thunderettes Meet A meeting of the Thunder- etts was held Feb. 7 in the meet ing room of the Nyssa library. Guest speakers were Bernard Eastman and Wayne Moncur who discussed the Annual Thun deregg Days dated in August. Purpose of Thunderettes or ganization is to serve the com munity in any possible way, to serve as a welcoming and get- acquainted group for newcom ers to the community, and to study topics of immediate civ ic and social interests. She had been working at Holy Rosary hospi tal. The bridegroom is a grad uate of Nyssa High School and had two years of Mechanical Arts. He is also in the Air Force division of the National Guard and ranches with his father. Out of town guests were from Fruitland, Buhl and Kimberly, Idaho; Dutton, Mont.; Hereford, Vale, Ontario, Willow Creek, and Woodburn, Ore. The bride was honored with a pre-nuptial shower at the home of Mrs. Alva Goodell, with Mrs. Dick Miller and Mrs. Glenn Strickland assisting. The newlyweds are residing on a ranch south of Nyssa. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. John Schenk, Mr. and Mrs. Snoden Roberts flew to Salt Lake City, Jan. 29 to attend the Jan. 30 Tem ple wedding of their daughter, Susan Schenk and Lonnie Ro berts. Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Russell held a Jan. 29 wedding supper for the newlyweds. The bridegrooms parents gave a 2 p.m. wedding breakfast for 30 guests. The two couples accompanied by the Schenks’ daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Laura) Russell and her two daughters, Lori and Christine flew home Jan. 31. Larry Schenk, of Las Vegas, Nev. flew home for the wedding reception which was held in Nyssa. Traditional organ music was played by Mrs. Elvin Ballou. Mrs. Tom Nishitani, accom panied by her daughter, Lissa, sang “God Gave Me You” and “More”. While the couple knelt at the altar, she sang “The Wedding Prayer”. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Somers chose a dress of coral wool with gold and brown accessories. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a three- piece knit suit of aqua-blue, and black accessories. Each wore a corsage of white rose buds, trimmed with ribbon and rhinestones.
