OREGON Pollyanna Club Members io Eled New Officers at Holiday Meeting By Dale Witt KINGMAN KOLONY —Polly anna club members will hold their Christmas dinner meeting at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 8, at East Side cafe in Ontario. Following the dinner hour, the women will elect new officers and exchange gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ashcraft were Sunday evening visitors in the Bill Toomb residence. Jimmie Nedrow was a Friday evening dinner guest of Danny Spencer. Saturday afternoon visitors in the Virgil Viers home were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Viers of Nampa. Laam Have Granddaughter Mr. and Mrs. Klaas Laan report the arrival of an 8-pound grand daughter, Tracy Lee, bom Dec. 1 to Dennis and Effie Laan Martin at Moscow, Idaho. Mrs. Laan planned to leave Monday to spend some time with her daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kygar were Sunday dinner guests of the Mel vin Crocker family. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Kygar were Sunday eve ning visitors in the Earl Kygar home. Mrs. Ruth Sant took her son, John Petty, to Malheur Memorial hospital in Nyssa Saturday eve ning when he was admitted for observation. He was released Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomp son returned Nov. 30 from Hepp ner after spending several days with their son, the Gary Thomp son family. Released From Hospital Don Fox returned home Satur day from St. Luke’r hospital in Boise where he had been a pa tient for several weeks after suf fering a heart attack. He is re ported to be greatly improved. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pittz and children of Nyssa were Sunday afternoon visitors in the Willis Conant home. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Geiser of Arnold, Neb., arrived Nov. 30 and were overnight guests in the Charles Bowers home. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Phifer and Jan were evening dinner guests. Dec. 1 evening dinner guests included the Phifer trio, the Geiser couple and their son, Larry Geiser of Boise. The Nebraska visitors re turned with him to the Idaho capital city. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Walters of Boise were Saturday evening din ner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Thompson. Attend Riding Club Party Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence L. Krea- ger were among those attending Owyhee Riding club’s annual ban quet and dance held Friday eve ning at Oregon Trail hall. About 70 club members and guests were present. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mull of Boise and Ada Savage of Nyssa were Nov. 30 evening visitors in the Art Sparks home. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Begeman were among those attending a “ladies’ night” party, sponsored by Adrian Lions club members. The dinner was served at Four Seasons cafe in Ontario, and the group then went bowling. M. O. Judd of Newell Heights was win ner of the door prize. GUESTS IN McKEE HOME Mrs. Max Schweizer of Port land spent several days last week visiting her mother, Mrs. George McKee. Other Sunday visitors were Mrs. McKee’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Armstrong; her nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Armstrong of Wilder. Mrs. Schweizer left Monday to return to her home in the Rose city. By Helen Hoffman Willie Stephen left last Thurs day to visit his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McArthur and children at Great Lakes Naval base. Enroute he visited an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lamb at St. Paul, Neb. Mrs. Grover Findley of Madras and Mrs. Joe Stephen visited Nov. 28 with their sister, Mrs. Eugene Stephen. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stephen, Axel, Jeff and Stuart spent Thanksgiving day with Mrs. Ste phen’s mother, Mrs. Martha Nor land in Apple Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mecham were recent evening dinner guests in the Thurman Piercy home. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ekanger, Mrs. Bill Richesin and baby were Friday afternoon visitors in the Edith Whipple home. Visit Hospital Patient Mrs. Guy Tanner and Mrs. Al- zina Salter visited Saturday with Mrs. Lydia Ricks, a patient at Caldwell Memorial hospital. Mrs. Theresa Guthrie of Salt Lake City arrived Monday to spend a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Tanner. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Simpson and Russell of Seattle, accompa nied by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Thompson, Mrs. Diane Pyle and son, spent the Thanksgiving holi days with Clair’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Clint Simpson and family were also dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Cheldelin spent Thanksgiving day with his mother, Mrs. Fannie Cheldelin at Portland. The Cheldelins also visited former Nyssans Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hartley at North Bend. Mrs. Fannie Cheldelin ac companied them home for a visit of several days. ClaMifiedi Bring Results!
