Jack Jamison offi ciating. Mr. Wild, a 32-year resident of Nyssa, succumbed on the previous Wednesday afternoon following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 18, 1881, in Waterville, Kan., a son of Wil liam and Martha Wild, and while a very young man began farming in Marshall county, Kan. On Nov. 1, 1905, he married Ethel Mae Augustus, continued farming in the Sunflower state and in Oklahoma. The Wilds later moved by covered wagon to wes tern Kansas, settled near Palco and continued to farm for 24 years there. It was during this period that Mr. Wild donated a tract of land on which was built a small coun try church, given the name of Ca naan chapel. The deceased be came a member of this church which has continued as a spiritual “lighthouse” throughout the years and still has an active congrega tion. Due to severe dust storms and extended drought conditions, Mr. and Mrs. Wild and son, Roy, left Kansas in April 1937, moved to Oregon and began operating OK Rubber Welder firms in Nyssa and New Plymouth. The deceased was active in the work until he retired in 1951. Mr. Wild was a charter member of the local Nazarene church and served for several years a Sun day school superintendent. In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, Roy of Nys sa; two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Rathbun of LaPuente, Calif., and Mrs. Arlene Seward of the Apple Valley community. Also surviv ing are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Wild was preceded in death by one son, Howard, who died when five years old, three broth ers and a sister. Interment was made in the Nyssa cemetery, under direction of Lienkaemper chapel.
