OREGON PAGE FOUR Journalism Class Visits Statesman Cow Hollow (From the NHS Bulldog) Twenty-two students from the journalism class traveled to Boise Thursday, April 21, to visit the Statesman newspaper plant. The class and Adviser Dale Schrauf- nagel left by bus at 8:30 a.m. and arrived at their destination at 11. At the Statesman, the students were divided into two groups to make the tour easier. An interest ing feature of the newspaper of fice is a machine which picks up news stories all over the world. Students realized the impor tance of the editor’s job in sorting out news stories to be used, since there is enough copy each day to fill three novels the size of ’Gone With the Wind.” Following the tour, the group was photographed on the steps of the Idaho capitol building. Stu dents ate a hearty lunch and re turned to school in time for their fifth and sixth period classes By Helen Hoffman Mr. and Mrs Vernon Widmer recently returm-d from a trip to Montpelier, Idaho, where they visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nye. They also attended a reunion of the Widmer family at the home of his parents, the Samuel Widmers in Geneva. Ida ho. Mark Morton attended National Guard training sessions and vis ited his sister, Betty Morton, dur- the weekend in Boise. Mrs. Ray Schulthies returned Wednesday evening of last week after visiting her mother, Mrs. Bessie Bair, and brother, Forrest Bair at Salt Lake City. She also attended funeral services for an aunt, Mrs. Leah Bair at Alpine, Utah. Classifieds Bring Results! Foster Mis Wilson and the Fosters were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sager. On Sunday the group joined the Rev. and Mrs. Tom Foster and family for dinner at the Two Boys Inn at Ontario. In fact the round object is the cover to the gas tank — which is surrounded by twigs, straw, chicken feathers and other materials associated with a mother sparrow building her nest. The "bird home," containing five eggs, was discovered May 11 by an attendant at Howard's Texaco station as h* started to fill the gas tank. The fair - feathered friend must have been a fast builder, because those who know Karma, know that she's a "go- go" girl, so it can't be too long between fillups. The bird must have entered the compartment each time through a small opening be tween the car and a lid to which the license plate is attached.
