The teachers commented on the beautiful decoration« which carried out the theme, “Misty Moonlight," and were used for the recent Junior-Senior Prom They were left by the students so they could be used by the soro rity. Following a brief business ses sion conducted by President Fran, ces Bates, Miss Margery Nihart introduced Meriko Atagi who is recipient of the Ada Haworth scholarship which is given an-1 nually by Upsilon chapter. This. was followed by an interesting' and humorous report by delegates they visited their granddaughter, Sharon at New Plymouth, and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Stettler at Notus. Mrs. Don Fox and Mm. Her schel Thompson attended the County Homemakers Extension club festival May 10 in the Gol den Slipper at Vale. Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomp son spent the weekend with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Don Thompson and family at Seneca. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hodge were weekend guests in the Willis Conant home. Mrs. Hodge is a sister of Mrs. Conant. C. I). Pittenger of Porterville, Calif., arrived Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowers. Mrs Austin is Rigney’s sister. While in town, the group was taken on a trip about Nyssa and Mrs. Bibbey, who many will re member as being a former resi dent, made a number of pleased and complimentary remarks as she noted the various improve ments which have been made. The meeting closed with an im pressive Founder’s Day ceremony conducted by Anna Long of Ad rian. Adrian high school vice principal, biology instructor, guidance counselor and baseball coach, has received a National Science foundation grant for an eight-week course in geology at Arizona State uni versity in Tempe. The grant re cipient was graduated from the University of Idaho at Moscow in 1960 and received his mas ter's degree in education there in 1961.
