Mrs. Hugh McConnell and her mother, Mrs. Herbert Shaw, were in Nyssa on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cartwright entertained at dinner on Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Parker and family of Newell Heights. The Kingman Pinochle club was entertained on Thursday afternoon by Mrs. Frank Newblll. Mrs. Carl Hill received high score prize and Miss May Beaumont received the traveling prize. Mrs. Conrad Martin and Mrs. Wesley Plercy were In Vale Tuesday morning on business. Miss Jeanette Martin spent from Tuesday until Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Mar tin. She has resigned her position as teacher In the Boise schools to accept a position with Drs. Cole, Kaley and Hanford in CaldwelL Elmer Dutton, Robert Clark and William Toomb left on Sunday for a hunting trip in the Jordan Valley country. Garden club met at the home of Mrs. Howard Hatch Tuesday afternoon. At the close of the afternoon Mrs. Hatch served delicious refreshments. The Kingman Kolony Grange held their annual Booster night at the American Legion hall in Adrian on Monday evening. The following program was presented: a piano du et by Betty Jean and Dorothy Toomb; a reading by Mrs. K. I. Pe terson: the Hap Hazard Hoodlums orchestra played several numbers, and a reading by Eleanor Dutton. The ladies of the Home Economics club gave a short skit. Mrs. Dale Ashcraft, Mrs. Conrad Martin and Miss Jeanette Martin spent Friday in Caldwell. Arcadia Mr. and Mrs. Riy Barnes and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Travis of Portland arrived last week for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wagner. Mrs. Barnes is a sister of Mrs. Wagner. Roy Brady Is home for a week’s visit from Hermiston where he is employed. George Savers of Portland is vis iting at the John Zettercob home. Mrs. Herbert Horn and Mrs. Perle Richard from the Richland District spent last Wednesday with Mrs. Gearge Moeller. Pete and Dale Fuller from Salem, Ore., arrived Sunday at the A. E. Zlckmond home for a visit. Pete Is Mrs. Zickmond's brother. Harold Dail has been transferred from Camp Roberts, Calif., to Fort Lewis. Wash. Theo Matherly, Otis Bullard and Charles Bullard left Saturday for the hills for a load of poles. They will try their luck at deer hunting while gone. They will return Mon day.
