Owyhee Plfty-iour were out to Sunday school. Mr. Bennedlct preached after the Sunday school services. Beet thinning is startelng In the community. Owyhee P. T. A. will meet at the school house Thursday evening, May the 8th. Officers will be elected. All school patrons are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Bigelow enter tained Sunday for Mrs. Earl Strick land. Mrs. G. L McMillan, Mrs. Carl Jungquest and Mrs Martha Kling- back, whose birthdays are all of re cent date. Families of the honoress were also present to partake of a very beautiful dinner mukir»; a total of 18 in the group. A beautifully decorated birthday cake made an attractive centerpiece. Word from Laurence Peutz Is that they arrived in Fort Amidor in the Panama Canal Zone, April 21. after an ocean trip of nine days and he has a feeling that it is going to be plenty warm in that climate. The Owyhee grade pupils played ball with the Adrian pupils Friday and the boys were defeated bu the girls came out ahead. Dustin Jungquest Is spending the week with his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. S. Harold Dali of Nyssa spent Sun day with his mother, Mrs. Anna Dali. Mr. and Mrs. Wid Lay visited at the G. F. Garren home Sunday evening. Mrs. Wallace Strane passed away at a hospital in Spokane, April 22, after a appendicltes operation. Mrs. Wallace Strane was the only daughter of Mrs. Ada Butler and was reared in Arcadia, she was also at Nyssa a number of years. She leaves beside her widower a 4 year old son, her mother, Mrs. Ada But ler, brothers, Edmond Butler of Caldwell, Vernon of Arcadia, and Conely of Paris, Texas, who arrived for the funeral; funeral services were held in Ontario Sunday after noon.
