tained Sunday for Mrs. Earl Strick­
land. Mrs. G. L McMillan, Mrs. Carl
Jungquest and Mrs Martha Kling-
back, whose birthdays are all of re­
cent date. Families of the honoress
were also present to partake of a
very beautiful dinner mukir»; a total
of 18 in the group. A beautifully
decorated birthday cake made an
attractive centerpiece.
Mrs. Ellis Walters attended a
shower for Byrd Walters of Boise

Word from Laurence Peutz Is that
they arrived in Fort Amidor in the
Panama Canal Zone, April 21. after
an ocean trip of nine days and he
has a feeling that it is going to be
plenty warm in that climate.

Mr. and Mrs. Wid Lay visited at
the G. F. Garren home Sunday

Mrs. Wallace Strane passed away
at a hospital in Spokane, April 22,
after a appendicltes operation.
Mrs. Wallace Strane was the only
daughter of Mrs. Ada Butler and
was reared in Arcadia, she was also
at Nyssa a number of years. She
leaves beside her widower a 4 year
old son, her mother, Mrs. Ada But­
ler, brothers, Edmond Butler of
Caldwell, Vernon of Arcadia, and
Conely of Paris, Texas, who arrived
for the funeral; funeral services
were held in Ontario Sunday after­
noon. Interment was in Ontario.
