Lindsay and three children and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Lundberg of Portland drove to Seaside Sun day afternoon for dinner at the Crab Broiler. They returned by way of Astoria, making a loop drive. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schwab and children spent the week end at Astoria with Mr and Mrs. H. J Peasnall. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Lindsay Saturday evening were three couples from Portland, all tormerly members of the same church league group. Week end guests at the home ot Mr. and Mrs. John Harris were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Harris Sr. from Portland. Mrs. Louis Carmichael return ed home last week end after a two weeks visit in and near Seattle with relatives. Several couples, including Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Quinn, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minger, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hamlett and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Redmond, en- joyed a square dance practice session at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Harns Sunday after noon. Nell Hogberg spent the week end in Portland visiting their daughter and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. David Hass. Mr«. Franc«« Holscy wai plea santly surprised Tuesday after noon by the arrival of several of her friends with a cake and pink and blue presents for the expect ed heir. She served cake and coffee to the following guests: Mesdames Jennie Hanson, Lois Wilson, Kay Huntley, Millie Huntley and Betty Pollock. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jes»ee «pent Sunday in Rainier visiting his father, James Jessee, who will be 89 years old on his birthday. While there they also visited Lee’s sister, Mrs. Ray Johnson. House guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Adams four days last week were her brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Prise and daughter of Bre merton, Washington, who have just recently returned from Kodi ak. Alaska where they had lived for several months. Friday afternoon visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jessee were her nephew and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Byers and two children and Mrs. Flora Hewett from Portland. Mrs. Hewett is a sister of Mrs. Jessee and for mer resident of Vernonia. Mrs. Hilda Keasey and Mrs. Eda Parker visited Friday after noon with Mrs. Byron Kirkbride. Mrs. Marie Frazee and Mr. and Mrs. George Peters drove to Cor vallis Saturday and while there, called on Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kienle. They found him much improved from the heart attack suffered last fall. Ralph Buckley of Forest Grove who owns property on the John- son road was in Vernonia on busi ness Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Teevin of Seaside were guests last week end at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Dane Brady and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bergerson. Mrs. Teevin is the former Janet Smith, niece of Mrs. Brady and Mr. Bergerson. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Jaeger from Yakima are visiting at the home of their daughter and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Announcement was made of the council meeting which is to b - held at Fern Hill Grange hall March 3. This is to be an offi cers meeting and all officers are urged to attend.
