First thief—“If you are the Christ save yourself and us.” The second fellow answers the fellow with— “Do you not fear God?" And he adds that they both deserve to die but not so with Christ who had done no sin. Then, to Christ— “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Christ answers the man — THIS DAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.—Luke 23:39-49. NOT FIT—But the thief was not fit for paradise. Like us, by natural birth he had a human heart that was deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. None of us by nature, are fit for paradise. Like us, the thief had to be cleared of his sins before he could go into glory. Acting for us and all mankind, Christ poured out His soul unto death. He took on the pains of hell that day down with the lost. He suffered to the full for all of us. God saw it and was satisfied — Isaoah 53:11-12. LOST MEN WANTED THE CREATION SABBATH In the Forum Column of the Eagle — December 30 issue — we have the Creation Sabbath, the Memorial of God’s Creation, the fourth commandent of the Moral Law, nailed to the cross. It would be altogether inconsistent to tare out the heart of the law and nail it to the cross without nailing down the other nine. The ten commandents cannot be legally seperated, we quote: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For He that —I CAME NOT TO CALL THE RIGHTEOUS BUT SINNERS TO REPENTANCE—Jesus word Mt. 9:13. Name Christ as your own Saviour who died for your every last sin and God gives you eternal life — with new days for here and now. S. W. McChesney Rd., Portland- This space paid for by a Port land business man and wife and daughters. said, do not commit adultry, said also, do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultry, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.” James 2:10,11. Now let us see what was nailed to the cross: In Colossians 2:14. we read these words: “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was con trary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.” This “Handwriting of ordi nances” spoken of here, our cor respondent would have us believe is God’s Ten Commandment Law, for he believes the fourth com mandent is against him, and con trary to him. How about the sixth, the seventh and the eighth of this same law my brother, are they contrary to yon also? would regret to think so. G. F. BrowP. Vancouver, Wash.
