Thursday, Nov. 13, 1941, Vernonia Eagle, Vernonia, Oregon study book, “The Seed and the Soil,” at their monthly meeting last Wednesday. The meeting was pre sided over by Mrs. Sidney Malm- sten, president, and devotionals were conducted by Mrs. Charles Malm- sten. Following the lesson, the ladies enjoyed a social hour and refresh- ments which were served by the Deborah Circle. At the next regular meeting, December 3rd, officers will be elected for 1942. Then rub skin with soften ed butter and dredge with flour. Stuff with any desired dressing and skewer, sewing up the open ings. Place in a hot oven at first, leaving the pan uncovered until the bird is slightly browned. When this is done, cover the pan, lower the heat and baste occasionally with melted butter and hot water. Turn turkey at least twice during roasting so that it will be evenly browned. The Lindsley family spent Sun day with Mrs. Lindsley’s sister, Mrs. James Walter, at Cedar Mills. The occasion was a picnic as Mrs. F. R. Chamberlain of Bellingham, another sister, and a niece.
