Milk-giving is » bred-in-the bone characteristic ami a matter of slow breeding at that. Keep the good milker and keep her female calves. If a man likes to work by lantern there is no objection to milking that time o'night, but it isn’t necessary to work that late even it you are a dairy man. Truth is, dairying in no harder work than anything else. The man who wants to live without work should go into politics. There are a great many honest dairy men. but selling a cow is a hard test to put them to. Better suggest before they have committed themselves that a Bab cock tester doesnt’t know how to lie. Good authorises have been preach ing cleanliness in the dairy ever since dairying began and yet it is estimated that fourteen tons of cow manure is sold in bottles in New York every year. This d"t.s not sound enticing, but the esti mate is probably too low. We CUant all Kinds of Produce Selling milk to a cheese factory is like selling the farm by the hundred pounds.
