* MAKING BUTTER COME IN WINTER. __ Dairy and Creamery. I. A cow that makes only 150 pounds of butter a year is worthless tor dairy pur- pot< . The hay or the iprlder may be cut aud wet and mixed with the grain food in due proportion to make up for the difference between it an.l tho summer grass. ■ The cows may be kept warm and e®Dmliirtable in the nights, aud the milk kept in a warm place in which it will be ready for skimming at the end of tho Bsniil period of 80 hours. Salt may be given to the cows every day; this is a 'Wr.v important matter, although asinali one apparently, for it may change the character of the milk considerably. All this may be done if its importance is recognized. It jsrimlispensablo that th? conditions that govern everything in the dairy in the summer shall be equally preserved iu the winter, then all will go on smooth ly, and with the same result every time.
