Senior News i ï i i i ï i i i i ï i i i i H i i i i ï i i i i i i i i i i i i h m «* The Columbia County Law Enforcement Raid Team is seeking abandoned or empty residences and/or sheds, garages and other buildings for training. “Practice” buildings are needed to continue honing the skills and developing pro fessional teamwork. The team of sworn law en forcement officers from all agencies within Columbia County, has been key in assist ing with safe entry into resi- Columbia Co. meeting in July The Columbia 9-1-1 Com munications District Board of Directors regular board meet ing will be held July 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Columbia 9-1- 1 Communications District Fa cility in St. Helens. The Columbia County Parks Advisory Commission will hold a public meeting Tuesday, July 26, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Columbia County Parks De partment office, 1054 Oregon St., St. Helens. dences and buildings for the execution of court ordered search and arrest warrants. Co-supervised by Sgt. Phil Edwards of the St. Helens Po lice Department and Sgt. Larry Lucas of the Oregon State Po lice, St. Helens outpost, the team trains regularly to en hance the skills necessary for this dangerous mission. If you have such buildings, no matter what condition they are in, and are willing to allow their use by the Raid team, contact Sgt. Lucas at 503-39- 0325, ext. 1. Class of 1965 reunion Aug. 6 The Vernonia High School class of 1965 will be holding it’s 40th reunion on Saturday, Au gust 6. The potluck picnic will be held at the home of Darlene Welch McLeod, 919 Fairway Lane, Vernonia. All former teachers are invited to attend. Some of us seniors had a fun Red Hat Day at LaTeaDa Teahouse in Tillamook last week; Red Hatting around is just another way of expressing the fact that there IS fun in get ting older; Red Hats are for those 50 and up. Come join the fun. THINGS TO KNOW: Cool Whip will condition your hair in 15 minutes. Pam cooking spray will dry your fingernail polish. Mayonnaise will KILL LICE. It will condition your hair (you only need a small amount). Elmer’s Glue - paint on your face, allow it to dry, peel off, and see the dead skin and blackheads. Shiny Hair - use brewed Lipton tea. Disclaimer: I copied this from a newsletter and haven’t tried any of it, so proceed at your own risk, ha. And by the way, I tried the old may on n a is e -o n -th e -f a ce- overnight routine as a moistur izer and all I did was gain weight - I had to get up and make myself a tuna sandwich every night.
