If the positions are not filled at the March meeting, the deci- sion to dissolve the Jamboree Committee will be made ac- cording to the by-laws, and the existing funds will be donated to non-profit charities. Groups or individuals plan- ning an event during Jam- boree, please attend a meeting soon so your event can be in- cluded in advertising and event publications. In addition to the executive positions that need to be filled, the following committees must be named; Grand Marshall and Citizen of the Year, Advertising, Parade, Waste Management, T-shirt Sales, Vendors, and Childrens’ Games. Now is the time to volunteer. All the infor- mation is available for a smooth transition and the outgoing offi- cers are more than willing to act as mentors and advisors. Please mail suggestions to Ver- nonia Jamboree Committee, P.O. Box 244, Vernonia, OR 97064. The winning entry will receive a $50.00 savings bond from U.S. Bank. The deadline is April 1. The winning theme will be annouced in the April 15 issue of The Independent. After the theme contest, there will be a T-shirt design contest with the winner receiv- ing a $50.00 savings bond. It is acceptable to submit both a theme and a T-shirt design by the April 1 deadline.
