Zada’s husband was a past President of the center and both had been ac tive members in prior years. Zada “Grandma" Snook was truly an example of a senior who maintained her sweetness until her death at the age of 96. She will be missed by us all. We are seeking a volunteer cook to fill in occasionally for Carol Davis on Tuesday and Thursday. October 22 - 10:30 to 11:30 There will be a workshop here at the Center put on by our lo cal clinic entitled “Successful Aging.” Plan to come! October 24 - Only a few slots left for foot care. We were nearly filled up last month. This is on a donation basis. Call us for an appointment. O ctober 27 - Five Area Lunch in Vernonia. All senior centers love to come to Ver nonia for great fun, food and auction. Important note: Please call us if you know of any shut-in seniors who need meals on wheels. This service is provid ed for seniors, 60 and up, on a donation basis only. Are you aware of the Senior Companion Program? We have available a senior lady who will provide transportation services for shopping, doctors, etc., also in-home companion visiting, for qualifying persons. REMEMBER: • Pastries and bread Wed nesday and Saturday morn ings. • Bingo, Mondays at lunch. • Ladies aerobics Mondays, too, after lunch. • Music with the Golden Oldies on Wednesdays. • Games on Thursdays. • Willoughby Hearing every second Friday. Musicians wanted for Community Concert Hands On Art will be presenting their third annual Christmas Concert in December. Local musicians are invited to join the choir, string orchestra or community band for the concert. The whole family is invited and no experience is necessary for the choir. A minimum of one year is necessary on an instrument to join the or chestra or band. Rehearsals will begin in early October.
