The extended nighttim e full c lo s u re s are n e c e s s a ry fo r crew s to rem ove and replace three de ck panels located next to tw o expansion joints on the bridge. These panels are a t tached to the deck in a m ore com plex w ay than the other panels and require m ore tim e to replace. D u rin g full n ig h ttim e c lo sures, the bridge is closed to all traffic, including bicycles and pedestrians. During single lane closu res, flaggers guide traffic, one direction at a tim e, with a m axim um delay of 20 m inutes.
