r Interest-free loans for child care providers Deadline for property tax appeals Property owners who want to request a reduction in the real market or specially as sessed value of personal and/or real property for tax pur poses still have time to file a petition with the Board of Prop erty Tax Appeals. Taxpayers who had a penal ty imposed for the previous year’s taxes may also petition for a dismissal of the penalty. Jazz Studies class will start A class in Jazz Studies will be offered in the spring semes ter at Vernonia High School. The new music class, for both instrumentalists and vo calists, will begin Jan 27 and will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. in the VHS band room. In addition to learning how to play jazz and to improvise, the course will include jazz his tory and tradition. Interest free loans are avail able from Child Care Resource & Referral to qualified child care providers in Columbia and Clatsop Counties. All petitions must be filed with the County Clerk by January 30, 1998. Hearings will be scheduled mid-February through early April. Petitioners who request a hearing will be notified by mail at least five days before the hearing date. Petition forms are available from each county. Call the County Clerk in the county where your property is located to obtain petition forms.
