His im patience is understandable. In the first meet of the sea son, at the Country Club in A storia , the team fa ile d to place because of a lack of p la y e rs , but so p h o m o re Tamara Fulmer took an indi vidual first out of 29 competi tors. The next day, Fulmer, who plays on both the girls’ and boys’ teams, placed second and received a m edal in a meet against Nestucca. Four days later, against Scappose, Tamara scored a 90 and re ceived a medal, leading Ver nonia to their first victory of the season. Foss fe e ls his team did well at home, “It was a great first win for us; we wanted to do well at home. The Loggers’ first game of the season, at Dayton, was rained out at the top of the second inning, with VHS be hind 4-3. A day later, they travelled to Neah-Kah-Nie, losing to the Pirates by a con vincing score of 18-0. Senior Steve Wolf took the loss optimistically, “We played really hard.
